Quanto dobbiamo a copisti, traduttori e
altri che negli scorsi due millenni hanno reso possibile la trasmissione
e la diffusione della cultura antica. Chi non ricorda Cicerone,
Virgilio, Seneca, o Tacito, per menzionare solo alcuni “monumenti” della
letteratura latina classica, che ammonta ad oltre 500 scritti? Questo
numero, però, diventa piccolo se lo confrontiamo agli oltre 18000 testi
latini postclassici, molti dei quali, all’alba del III millennio, non
sono stati ancora tradotti in lingua moderna e giacciono sepolti nelle
biblioteche. Un mondo sommerso ancora tutto da esplorare!

"OLD STORIES"
to be preserved
How ancient culture is handed down
to us by copyists and translators! Cicero, Virgilius, and Tacitus are only some monuments
of classical Latin literature, which amounts to more than 500 writings. However, this
number is small in comparison with more than 18.000 Latin texts of a later time, the most
of those, at daybreak of third millennium, were not translated into modern language and
hidden in libraries! This site is created to edit the translation of latter, so that most
